Morphology

Because of its extend polymers are very hard to crystallize. Only small region can order. The degree of crystallization (percentage of volume ordered volume) is strongly influenced by the intermolecular forces and the topology of the chains. Branched or networked polymers show a very low of crystallinity. Increased crystallinity show a better mechanical stiffness and a higher melting temperatures.
