• Lattice models for a coarse-grained representation of polymer systems are able to reproduce static as well as dynamic properties of real materials.

• Off-Lattice models do also well with the additional advantage that the detailed chemistry can be easily put back into the simulation.

• The continuous back bone mass model is able to reach asympotic behaviour much earlier than the lattice model.

• The additional complexity in the calculation of the equations of motion are well made up by the above mentioned advantage
